How to choose the right opening direction?

The way your door opens is important in its functionality. That is why it is important to carefully consider the correct opening direction.

How to choose the right opening direction?

The direction of rotation will determine whether your new door functions properly. This is why it is so important to understand and carefully consider which opening direction you choose.

The direction of opening depends on the position of the hinges. You can choose whether you want the door to open inwards or outwards and in which way. For double doors, you can choose which wing will open first and will have a handle. Doors opening outwards are seen from outside and doors opening inwards are seen from inside.

Some elements can only open inwards (all tilt & turn elements) or only outwards.

Opening direction - Doors

Hinged right side (viewed from outside) – opens outwards

Hinged left side (viewed from outside) – opens outwards

Hinged right side (viewed from inside) – opens inwards

Hinged left side (viewed from inside) – opens inwards

Opening direction - Double doors

For double doors, the same opening directions apply, with the door that opens first indicating the opening direction. For example, right outside hinged means that, seen from the outside, the right door opens first.

Hinged right side (viewed from outside) – opens outwards

Hinged left side (viewed from outside) – opens outwards

Hinged right side (viewed from inside) – opens inwards

Hinged left side (viewed from inside) – opens inwards
