Opening directions

How to choose the right opening direction?

The direction of rotation will determine whether your new door functions properly. This is why it is so important to understand and carefully consider which opening direction you choose.

Below are the different opening directions and options, which we also use when entering your order for a new door. For example, if you want your new door to be left-handed, this means that the door opens inwards and the hinges are on the left side (photo no. 4 below).

The opening direction is always seen from the side to which the door opens (the side where you can see the hinges).

Exterior doors are seen from the outside, interior doors from the inside:

External right-hand hinge - hinges on the right when viewed from the outside

Left-hand hinge - hinges on the left when viewed from the outside

Right-angled inside - hinges on the right side seen from the inside

Left-hand hinge - hinges on the left when viewed from the inside

For double doors, the same opening directions apply, with the door that opens first indicating the opening direction. For example, right outside hinged means that, seen from the outside, the right door opens first.

Left-hand hinge - hinges on the left when viewed from the outside

Right-angled inside - hinges on the right side seen from the inside
